Points of Interest:
Fall Creek Vineyards of Austin is producing Sauvigon Blanc and Cabernet Savignon wines titled “MISSION de San Antonio de Valero”
The MISSION wines are available in H.E.B. stores across Texas
A portion of proceeds from the sale of the MISSION line are to be donated to The Alamo to assist in preservation of the iconic Alamo Shrine
The Alamo, working with architect and historic preservationist Carolyn Peterson of the firm Ford Powell & Carson, has identified current preservation needs for the Shrine.
The Alamo Shrine is in no immediate danger. Preservation efforts will include addressing moisture in the limestone, reinforcing the foundation, and addressing small structural issues that are common in a building over 250 years old!
Total cost of Alamo Shrine preservation is $1.6 million and will be a multi-year process. Should an individual wish to directly contribute to the effort, he or she may visit us online at: www.thealamo.org to donate.
